Nothing at Kohls...

Yesterday Anna and I took a trip to Kohls. She desperately needs some pants and sweaters since she has gone through a growth spurt recently. I told her I'd treat her to some new outfits. She wasn't as thrilled with this as I thought she should be. I would LOVE if someone would say that to me! Anyway, I packed the stroller with snacks and drinks to keep her happy while I hunted for some nice outfits and great deals. Well, they had absolutely NOTHING. Apparently looking in February for pants, sweaters and long sleeve shirts is unheard of according to the saleslady. Its 8 degrees outside today with snow on the way for this evening and all they have are polka dotted bikinis, shorts and tank tops. I don't think that is going to cut it. Tomorrow we'll try Target.

Three Times A Charm?

Would you believe Ron painted the bathroom again this morning? We lived with the Richmond Bisque for several days and still felt it was too dark so we cut it down to 25% and started again. This time we really like it! It was too dark full strength and it felt like you were walking into a cave! This is a nice warm color but fresh and airy feeling. The man at Home Depot had a good laugh when we showed up for the third time!

Three More Weeks...

Well, just one of Ron's students made states -so three more weeks of practice and then a trip to Rochester, NY. I'm okay with the continued practices, but not thrilled of a long weekend without him home. He's excited though and may even dye his beard blue now! Three weeks isn't so bad -the end is in sight.
Since Ron was home from school this week and only had practices in the afternoon, we decided to paint one of our bathrooms. We recently decided to refinance our mortgage and an appraiser will be coming shortly to determine the value of the house. Between the new addition and the way the housing market has been, we have no idea what to expect. I do know however that watching HGTV all the time has inspired me to try color. And with the appraiser coming, the old bathroom needed a quick makeover. After living with 'Pebble Path' (a golden tan) for three days, I decided I didn't like it at all and asked Ron to try something else. He was not thrilled with me to say the least but being the great husband he is, he repainted and now we are trying to decide if we like 'Richmond Bisque' which is a very neutral tan. I'll post pictures later on once I get all the pictures hung again.

The End Is In Sight...

Well, Ron has a wrestling tournament with his team today at Pace University. If they win, the wrestling season will continue until March when they go to Rochester, NY for states. If they lose, the season is over today. This has been a long four months for us and as you all know, I can't wait for the season to be over! Ron however has enjoyed every minute of it and would love a chance at states. He asked me this morning to say a prayer that they win -no small task for me!
I should also mention the deal that all the coaches made with the team. If they made it to divisionals (which they did), they had to dye their hair and beards blonde. If they make it to states, they have to dye it all blue -I guess that's the division color. Well, Ron left the house this morning with brown hair and a blonde beard. I will post a picture if he ever lets me take one!

Old MacAnna Had A Farm...

Sorry for the lack of blogs lately. The last two weeks have been extremely stressful and I feel like finally we are starting to return to some sense of normalcy. In the last week or so, Ron and I have been researching refinancing our mortgage since the rates have really dropped. Last night we were writing an e-mail to our accountant to ask his opinion and Anna was playing quietly in her room with her blocks. Ron poked his head in every few minutes just to make sure she wasn't getting into any trouble. When we finished up our e-mail, we went in to tell her it was time to start cleaning up and take her bath. We were shocked to see this awesome little farm she created! Doesn't it look like a real farm -okay, ignore the tree and sheep on top of the barn but the rest of it looks pretty realistic we thought! She was very proud of herself as you can see in this picture.
